A bit about me
I’ve had a passion for gardening since I was young – my grandmother was one of the first Interflora florists in NZ and both my mother and father were keen gardeners, so it’s no surprise that I made a career in it.
From buying rural properties and renovating the land, to working as a project manager on commercial sites, I’ve been transforming outdoor spaces for over 30 years and I love the process of bringing them to life.
Sowing the seeds
I’ve lived in Wanaka, New Zealand for almost 20 years and I owned and ran a little place called The Garden Store on Aubrey Road. I sold a variety of plants and garden supplies and built some truly wonderful connections with my customers, which sowed the seeds for my garden mentoring business today.
People would often drop in for advice on gardening problems, and soon I began offering coaching on an as-and-when basis and realised that my true passion lay in coaching and sharing the knowledge.
Fast forward a few years and now here I am full time as The Garden Coach, working with some of those same clients locally and offering packages for gardens, landscaping and courtyard projects.
The Garden Coach: your garden project assist
For newbies or those with limited experience in renovating outdoor spaces, it can be a bit intimidating if you’re not quite sure what you’re doing or where to begin. You might have some great ideas, but just need some assurance that you’re on the right track, and that’s where I come in.
I’ve designed my packages around the fundamental elements that all gardens need to flourish – that is healthy soil, correct irrigation, sunlight and design. Regardless of your experience, I work with you to provide bespoke, practical solutions for your outdoor spaces that you can easily implement.
Easy, no-fuss gardening advice
I experienced many problems firsthand myself when I first started out, and now I can find solutions quickly for my clients. As gardens take a long time to grow (and can become costly if you don’t get it right first time) I can put you on the right track so that you can create something that will work for you.
